Welcome to our School

Over the past couple weeks, our focus WAFFLE value has been Welcoming. We talked a great deal about what this meant in Primary 1 and decided to create a display of our thoughts and learning. ๐Ÿ˜Š

To begin our session, we split into groups, which were each supported by an adult, to share our thoughts and ideas about what welcoming means to us. As you can see from our mind maps, we were able to come up with some amazing ideas. We soon realised that there are already lots of great things happening in our school to make it feel welcoming and there are also things we could do to make it even better.

A day or so later, we began work on our individual pictures to add to the display. We placed a big heart in our body to show that we take a pride in our school and care about what we do and say. Then we shared our welcoming sentence with an adult and even though a heart is an awkward shape to write in, we carefully copied our sentence using neat handwriting. Finally we added our head, arms and legs. We were all delighted with our final piece of work. ๐Ÿคฉ

We have displayed our work at the main entrance of the school, but we also thought it would be great to share some photos with you at home too. We hope you all feel very welcome when you come to our school! it really is a great place to be! ๐Ÿ˜
